Strengthening Global Education Links: Faculty of Foreign Languages Hosts European Delegations

NINGBO, China – The Faculty of Foreign Languages at Ningbo University recently held productive talks with two leading European institutions: the University of Szczecin in Poland and Eötvös Loránd University in Hungary. The discussions centered on expanding collaboration in talent development, interdisciplinary programs, and academic exchange, reflecting the Facultys ongoing commitment to high-quality international engagement.


Strengthening Cooperation with University of Szczecin  

On November 13, 2025, a delegation from the University of Szczecin visited the Faculty of Foreign Languages. The visiting group included Professor Kinga, Vice-Rector; Professor Jarosław, Dean of the Doctoral School; and Dr. Joanna, Head of the International Office. They were warmly received by Faculty Party Secretary Weng Huaxing, Deputy Dean He Ying, and other faculty representatives.


Building on existing student exchange initiatives, both sides explored the development of “2+2” and“3+1”joint undergraduate programs in English. They also agreed to promote cross-disciplinary collaboration in law, business, logistics, and sociology through both online and in-person channels. The visit reinforced bilateral ties and laid a solid foundation for future academic and talent-development cooperation.


Exploring New Avenues with Eötvös Loránd University  

On November 19, 2023, a delegation from Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) visited the Faculty with the support of the Ningbo University International Office. The meeting was attended by Faculty Party Secretary Weng Huaxing, Deputy Deans He Ying and Zhang Zhi, and other faculty members.


Dr. Bartus Dávid, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities at ELTE, introduced the strengths of its humanities programs and shared innovative approaches to integrating language studies with fields such as artificial intelligence and business. The two sides discussed potential collaboration in masters-level joint programs, faculty exchanges, academic research, and future applications for innovative PhD training projects under the China Scholarship Council. These exchanges are expected to lead to substantive cooperation in the near future.


Toward a Diversified and Dynamic International Network  

These high-level meetings mark important steps in the Facultys strategy to build a diversified, high-quality international cooperation system. Through sustained engagement with European partners, the Faculty aims to foster innovation in talent development, academic research, and faculty capacity building.


Looking ahead, the Faculty of Foreign Languages will continue to expand its global partnership network, enrich its academic programs, and enhance the overall quality of education—supporting Ningbo Universitys dual mission of contributing to regional socioeconomic development and cultivating talent with global competence.
